Gallery Report ALL draw paint classes Due; November 20th

Requirements for Gallery Report ( 1 each semester) :

Each report must be 1-2 page typed pages, double space, 10 point font HANDWRITTEN PAPERS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED

Describe a work of art seen from your gallery or museum visit. Be sure to include the name of the artist, title of the painting, and medium ( what it's made from). Write your own reaction to it. Include language that describes the work: using the elements and principles of art and design ( line, shape, form, value, color, pattern, movement, balance, emphasis, texture, etc.) Use adjectives!!! Craft the paper as an English class essay ( make it a BS free zone).

IMPORTANT!!! Must have a picture of you at the gallery infront of the art work. also Include any promotional material from the show you are reviewing – postcards, etc. ( if you don't have this stuff you will not receive full credit for the paper).

If you haven't done so already research 3 images for your scratchboard:

Images need to be 5 X 7 inches to 8 X 10 inches,  black and white with grey tones
and then in your sketchbook create small thumbnail skctches exploring composition 





In your sketchbook write 2 paragraphs  about the use of imagery in the work of Virgin Finlay or Cathy Sheeter
Describe the use of Texture and contrast and composition ( how the images are placed on the page).

A block: Weekend Homework

300 Level: Self portrait from the mirror in . Carefully observe the proportions of your face and draw in your features. Keep in mind that you have the packet to get information on to draw the eyes, nose and mouth. Don't worry about adding shading to the hair, just give your hair shape. Plan on spending 2 hours on this assignment: Make sure that your face is good lighting on it.

Due: Tuesday

400: work on homeproject Due date November 8th. Work for 2 hours on your homeproject
