Draw Paint 400 sketchbook requirements

Student sketchbooks

Please bring your sketchbook it to every art class and Field Trip .Students are expected to generate 3-5 ideas (in this journal) for each assignment BEFORE you begin to develop a final piece. If you do not have it in class each day, your grade for class membership will reflect this. Growth, in terms sketchbook usage, is part of your evaluation for review each semester. There will be some days where we will work solely in our sketchbooks as part of these assignments.

Draw Paint 400 GRADE SKETCHBOOKS

Individuals at this level should be well on their way to independent work. I will review each student’s

journal and discuss it’ use with them. If the instructor determines that the student has a satisfactory grasp on how to make the journal work personally productive, that student will meet as needed with the instructor to discuss journal progress. You will be given a weekly sketchbook prompt that can be interpreted in any dawing medium. At the minimum, students at the 400 level should have 15 -20 pages completed in their sketchbooks per semester. This is a MINIMUM REQUIREMENT. It is evaluated twice per quarter. If your assignments show growth, care and investigation you will earn a B+ for your sketchbook grade. If you do five additional drawings on your own that also show care and investigation you will earn an A in your sketchbook grade.
